Oscar Fantasy Draft

The Oscar nominations came out this week, so we will gather today to hold our annual Academy Award Fantasy Draft.

Its good timing since Doug Martin appears to have FADA Bachelor Fantasy championship wrapped up. I don't think anyone thought Danielle AND Raven would go for over 100 points this week.  Here's the lesson: Do your research. Well played Judge Martin.

Anyway, smart money is on Manchester by the Sea, though there could be a strong challenge from either Fences or Moonlight.  I personally did not see La La Land.  It's not that I don't like musicals, but I think we can all agree Ryan Gosling is a no-talent hack. He's not even that good looking, unless you have a weird thing for chiseled jawbones, steely blue eyesflawless physiques, and a full head of hair.  Obviously, intelligent people can disagree, but I dont fully understand what Keely, Laura, Gina, Eve, Cambre, Karen, Courtney, Phil, and Anne are so enamored with.

Anyway, draws for Best Editing in a Foreign Language Live Action Short start at 4:30. Don't be late.

Lastly, If the news has been tough to watch lately, it might be because WJM in Minneapolis lost one hell of an assistant-producer this week.

For most of you, this might be a little hard to imagine, but for people of a certain age (I'm talking to you Greg House), Mary Tyler Moore was one spunky broad. Women (Libbers) wanted to be her, and men who watched Phil Donohue wanted to be with her.

No, she was not (necessarily) a traditional sex symbol, but I think we can all agree Rob Petrie out-kicked the coverage on that marriage.   She was the first single woman on television to take birth control, and the only nun Elvis didn't sleep with on film.

That's range.

Join us today for a little song...a little dance...a little seltzer down your pants.
