No Soup for You!

It’s not a secret. We are on the take.

In the industry, it’s called “sponsored content." Otherwise put, occasionally we get a little cash gratuity under the table for placing favorable mentions to a mighty and powerful audience.

Come on, you knew this. Why the hell do you think we talked about Berry Ozturk's ground-breaking line of Turk Trunks (available for men and boys) every three weeks  -- like it was on a payment schedule. Here's a hint: it ain't because we love board shorts.

This is the week we normally feature the annual Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families blockbuster fundraiser, Soup Sunday. But this year, the greedy bastards in AACF have decided to spend their vast marketing dollars elsewhere.

And as the old saying goes: No Money, No Funny.

As such, we will not be talking about Soup Sunday this week. Won’t be mentioning the exciting list of silent auction items -- including, an "Off-Air-Interview" with Ozarks at Large's Kyle Kellams. Probably won’t mention the amazing soup’s provided by dozens of our area'a top restaurants. We definitely won’t talk about an amazing Mexican villa available to the highest bidder. Or if we did, we'd simply mention that Puerto Vallarta has been a dump since the Love Boat quit docking there.

We definitely won’t provide important logistical facts, like it starts at 4:00 pm, this Sunday at the John Q. Hammond center -- or that you can get advance tickets by clicking HERE. And we would never mention the proceeds help ensure that all children and their families throughout Arkansas have the resources and opportunities to lead healthy and productive lives and to realize their full potential. The little bastards.

We will gather today at Dickson St. Pub to do a little Business Development and find other “More deserving“ sponsorship opportunities.
