Joe Buck Yourself vs. Lego Batman

This week brings us yet another great American cultural conflict.  Am I talking about Elizabeth “Stands with a Fist” Warren taking on Jeff “Selma” Sessions?  Or perhaps Iran changing the name of their missiles from Fateh-110 to Trump Tower Torchers?  You might think these events are the real deal this week but, alas, they did not make the cut.

We might also surmise that Olivia Munn and Gisele Bündchen may have a cage fight after Joe Buck referred to Tom Brady’s “Perfect balls” one week after he changed Aaron Rogers’ name to “The Great Aaron Rodgers” simply by stating it on air 25 times.

In fact, Iran’s missile program; God’s snowstorm revenge on New England; the Warren v. Sessions embarrassment; and several other national controversies could also be blamed on Joe Buck.  If you don’t believe me, simply mute your television while watching any sporting event where Joe Buck is announcing and then search Twitter for live tweets using #Joe Buck.

All JOEking aside, this week’s real conflict centers around Hollywood’s two blockbusters which are going head to head this weekend.  If you can’t make FADA b/c you are waiting in the lines at the Fiesta Square peep show, we will understand.  That’s right, at the center of this post, we would offer the great American drama unfolding before our eyes: Lego Batman vs. Christian Grey.  Hollywood once again has filled its post Oscar films with all of the creative juices that make television such a better medium for entertainment.

Batman, an obscure (film noir) hero in modern cinema, will take on 50 Shades Darker super villain Christian Grey.  After some serious digging, the FADA film Critics Guild has uncovered that 50 Shades Darker is based on a book which is, in fact, “fan-fiction” from another book.  (We have reports that Phil accidentally read the whole series twice).  The only thing more creative than basing films on books based on other books is probably the pure genius of substituting a child’s toy for a film character based on a comic book.  At least both films feature masked men who want to cause pain to other characters who are all dressed in leather?

Come to FADA this Friday at 4:30 to give your opinion on the current state of affairs where we will decide if Joe Buck or Hollywood is the one who will truly make America great again!
