The Best Football Team in All of Fayetteville

Today we see more evidence that our city’s bold vision to build one massive, palatial high school continues to pay dividendes where it matters most — dominance in high school football.

While the ’86-’87 (Purple) Bulldog squads may never be surpassed for intellectual acumen and civic engagement, the current era in Fayetteville High history may surpass their fathers athletic prowess.  After eschewing neighboring cities trend of SeparatebutEqual learning facilities, our consolidated Fayetteville Bulldogs will today fight for their fourth 7-A State Football Championship in six years.

We intended to meet today where the old crew of Bulldogsused gather and discuss the future of our community.  Unfortunately, Friendly Liquor has since closed and Mike Scott’s parents sold their house on Lovers Lane long after the kegger that was “hosted” there during a 1987 family vacation. And breaking into old gym at the New School (again) seemed like a really, really bad idea — in retrospect.

North Little Rock High (East Campus?) graduate, and recently deposed “Mayor of Dickson St” Scott Hardin, Esq., was less enthusiastic about Fayetteville’s chances. When reached for comment, Hardin — who actually prefers to be referred to by his fraternity pledge name ‘Goob‘ said, “Bulldogs SUUUUUUUCK!!!!” Counselor Hardin continued, “Go Chargers!!!…I mean GO CHARGING WILDCATS!!!!  Whatever…”
