2017’s Gotta Be Better, Right?
/Just six days in and 2017 is already giving us plenty to talk about. From the National Championship game that will look entirely different from last year’s, to today’s snowpocalypse. Surprisingly, the Hogs are underdogs against Kentucky this weekend, and there are recent confirmations that local elected leaders are involved in stunning improprieties.
Yeah, 2017’s going to be totally different. But before officially turning the page on the year that was, we want to pay one last 2016 tribute for one we lost far too soon.
The Grim Reaper worked 2016 like a commission only clothing salesman at The Independent. And because everyone from Nat King Cole’s daughter to Father Mulcahy wasn’t enough to make his quota, The Spectre of Death nabbed one last score as the ball dropped over Time Square — snuffing out the last dying breath of Mariah Carey’s career.
To be fair, it was a slow death. Join us as we pour one out for 2016 — OR until the bar runs out of booze.
