You feel some celebrity passings sting more than others.  And this week, our world was dealt a blow like a pair of size 34-DD (Doubly Devastating) bombshells straight to the chest.

Hugh Hefner was a man of many passions.  Yes, he was a pioneer of pornography.  But he was also a champion for the equal rights of air-brushed women. And he liked Jazz.

Because we so revere 'Hef' - as he was called by the 3 to 7 women who pretended to be his TV girlfriends - we will gather today to celebrate the 50th birthdays of 1) a brilliant journalist, and 2) a best-selling author who wrote an entire book about lady parts.

Madams Gina Shelton and Dr. Eve Agee (respectively).

It has been a difficult week on the family budget, charitably speaking. There was the Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families event last night. And this week is the KUAF Fall on-air pledge week.  The organization that raises the most (AACF v. KUAF) wins the coveted Kellams Cup (which is traditionally filled with PBR and box wine).

As such, our weekly gathering this week is entirely free of charge -- for you at least. Free drinks, free food, free love.
