The Case of Hogs v. Frogs
/It is said God doesn't watch football. But it might have been hard for Him to look away from the clash between Baylor University and the Liberty Flames last week.
We admit, we have an irrational thing against bears -- who happen to be Baptists, and also rapists. So it was a bitter sweet feeling to watch Ken Starr's former team lose to a Division 1-AA (FCS) team from a bible college founded by Jerry Falwell. It's a bit like Ole Miss losing to Orval Faubus Jr. College. Or Trump University losing to...well...Trumpier University.
This is timely because this weekend the Hogs take on Texas' third most pious university, (behind SMU, but ahead of Stephen F. Austin). The Texas Christian University Horn Frogs (whatever that is) are rebuilding from their heyday in the mid-1930's. Which makes their absence from college football relevancy almost 30 years longer than our Razorbacks.
It's a long weekend ahead, so remember to hydrate.

Keely Meyer and Tonya Lundstrom are holding their annual pre-tailgate party. Spouses encouraged. Children less so. The invitation says "Adults Only." Don't know if that's related to any mature themes taking place or just general logistics. You may RSVP here if you so choose.
Tomorrow

The Gardens, southwest corner between Razorback road and Lot 56
Jan's Ford Expedition was recovered after being temporarily "stolen" and deposited in a field near the Fayetteville Country Club. Law enforcement surmised the car was trying to drive itself to it's other home. From this the rear tailgate of this American treasure, Jan and Rodney Moore (Chairman of our Arkadelphia chapter) will serve a smorgasbord board of meticulously crafted smoked meat dishes and poorly poured cocktails.
